Prescription glasses are not worn for the first 6 months. Very lightweight sunglasses, however, can be worn from the 4th month onwards, for short periods. The problem is not the lens itself but the pressure the frame puts on the bridge of the nose; while the bone and cartilage have not yet fully settled, this pressure can distort the shape.

Alternatives for the First 6 Months
If you can wear contact lenses, they are the most practical solution during this period. An umbrella or a hat also provides UV protection in the sun. Some patients secure their glasses to the head with tape, completely removing the load on the nose; you can discuss this method with your surgeon.
The glasses usage period may vary from person to person depending on the healing speed of the nasal bone. It is important to follow your doctor's recommendations.
