💒 I have a special day coming up, such as a wedding, engagement or henna night. How long before it should I have surgery?

⚡

If you have an important event such as a wedding, engagement or henna night, I recommend having surgery at least 2 months before the event. If less than 2 months remain until the event, I would not recommend having surgery before it.

This is because swelling (edema) after surgery goes down gradually:

  • 7–14 days: Bruising largely fades.
  • 2–3 weeks: The initial major swelling goes down.
  • The following months: The fine swelling continues and gradually decreases; the last place it goes down is the nasal tip.

⏳ Why 2 months? After a shorter period, such as 1 month, the bruising will have largely gone and the initial major swelling will have gone down; however, the fine swelling remains.

🩹 About taping: After the first 14 days, nose taping is a recommendation, not a requirement. On your special day, when you do not want the tape to show, you can skip taping and return to your routine afterwards.

📅
Since our appointment schedule is often fully booked 2–4 weeks ahead, if you have an event on a fixed date, it is a good idea to start planning early.
